How We Started

Continuing the legacy since 1928...

Funeraria Samson was founded in 1928 by Rita Monzon Samson. Rita Samson was a known entrepreneur and a woman of the people. Born and raised in Imus, Cavite she was in tune to the needs of her fellow Caviteños. She thought that with her business sense, coupled with a caring and generous heart that a funeral home will fulfill her dreams of uplifting her family and the community.

Funeraria Samson was opened and founded with the principles of quality personalized service and with that; Rita Samson started the Samson Group of Companies

The business thrived and even continued operating all throughout World War II. It was only when Rita Samson departed her family at the age of 69 that Funeraria Samson closed its doors.

It was the year 1976 when Samson came alive again. Born with the iron will and entrepreneurial spirit of her grandmother, Cecilia Del Mundo Ancheta set out to resume the business. Under her leadership and the same set of principles the company started with, Funeraria Samson flourished and went on its way to becoming the biggest and most reputable funeral home in Cavite. With growing demand for its services, a 2nd branch in Kawit and a 3rd branch in Rosario were opened in 1983. And the following year a 4th branch was opened in Bacoor.

As the company was growing so was the dream of becoming a leading full service funeral home. In 1988 Funeraria Samson set up C. Ancheta Crafts, a casket manufacturing company. Samson wanted to be able to give clients a wider range of options and at the same time be sure that the products are meeting the highest standards. With Samson made caskets as well as imported caskets, families can choose one that is in line with their preferences and capabilities. Simultaneously, the client base continues to grow so a 5th branch in Tejero was opened in 1994.

In 1997, Funeraria Samson opened the Rita Samson Memorial Garden. It is a 7,000 square meter memorial park in Alapan. It was named after the company’s founder to pay tribute to her love for her business, her employees and her community.

Only 3 years later, another milestone was achieved by the Samson group of companies. The 1st branch, the Imus branch was transformed into the Bahay Ugnayan – Samson Vigil Spaces. It was the first memorial chapel of its kind in the community. It is a complete facility that allows families to accommodate visiting relatives and friends and remember loved ones in a peaceful and tranquil space.

Growth and improvement of services continued on through the years. Samson’s leader, Cecilia M. Ancheta turned her love for flowers as a feature of Samson’s service that would set it apart from the rest for years to come. Funeraria Samson became known for beautiful floral arrangements. So in 2004 the Samson group opened Antonio’s Farm. All flowers used in our services are grown at the flower farm. Also in the same year, a 6th branch was opened in Molino and a few years later in 2007 the 7th branch was opened in Buhay na Tubig.

Today with over 100 employees, 7 branches and a number of sister companies, Funeraria Samson has grown to be one of the largest and most respected funeral home. What was true in 1928 is still true now that Samson will always be committed to providing quality personal service, continuously improving and growing. Service with love and care, from our family to yours.
